Sanju Samson, the explosive Indian cricketer and role model to many, has been named the new Brand Ambassador of Indian Super League’s franchise Kerala Blasters. The addition of Sanju, one of Kerala’s biggest pro athletes, is anticipated to energize the Blasters’ off-field endeavors, including grassroots and community development as well as fan events.
Sanju, a young and well-known cricketer from India, has been appointed the new brand ambassador of Kerela Blasters FC. The 28-year-old cricketer, who is the captain of Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League and has already made a place for himself among the best in the world, will now make a foray into football, but certainly not on the field.
As a role model for many young athletes in India, Sanju will represent the football team and its principles both on and off the field. His selection as the brand ambassador of Kerala Blasters will increase his influence even further.
Sanju has never played football, but his rise to prominence as an explosive cricketer has inspired many athletes around the country, particularly in Kerela because he is from Thiruvananthapuram. Sanju and Kerala Blasters FC will collaborate to promote the sport and interact with followers in Kerala. The collaboration will be thoroughly incorporated into all of the club’s grassroots projects, community programs, and a lot more.
“I have always been an avid football fan. As my father was a professional football player, football has always been a sport close to my heart. I am honored to be the brand ambassador of Kerala Blasters FC. The club has done so much since its inception to bring back the glory of football to this state. In the process, they have built and cultivated one of the most loyal fanbases in the country.” Sanju Samson
Sanju will make his official debut as Kerela’s Brand Ambassador during their game versus Chenaiyan FC
As the league stage nears its conclusion, Kerala Blasters FC are hoping to win their upcoming match against local rivals Chenaiyan FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Tuesday to strengthen their place in the league standings. In the ISL, these two sides have faced off 19 times, with eight games ending in draws. With six victories, Chennaiyin FC leads the overall head-to-head series by a slim margin, but they haven’t defeated the Blasters since their 2-0 victory in the 2019 campaign.
The Blasters are currently in third place with 28 points as a result of an incredible run in which they lost just two points in November and December. However, following that series of games, their form left them as they have only achieved one win and three losses in their last four games. Kerela Blasters still hold a slim lead over FC Goa, who are just behind them in the standings, but if the Blasters do not quickly regain their momentum, they risk losing third place to them.
Meanwhile, Chennaiyin FC will be aware that their upcoming match against Kerela may be their final opportunity to remain in the Indian Super League playoff race this season (ISL). The visitors currently have a random streak going where they have only lost two of their last seven games but have not managed to secure any victories. This included a 2-2 tie with Odisha FC last week that kept them in eighth position overall, six points behind Odisha FC in seventh place, and, as of Monday, seven points behind Bengaluru FC, who were in sixth place.
Thomas Brdaric, the head coach of Chennaiyin, is aware that anything less than a victory over the Blasters will force his club to rely on the other contenders’ performance in the last three games. However, now that Abdenasser El Khayati, who scored against Odisha FC before being substituted, is back in the starting lineup, the team will have high hopes of advancing further and maintaining the momentum all the way to the finish line.
